Anneliese Melens - Paintings, Amsterdam (Zeeburgereiland)

Paintings, Amsterdam (Zeeburgereiland)

Paintings, made after my departure from Amsterdam - especially - the Zeeburgereiland where I had my studio for five years . The island was called the 'fringe' of Amsterdam and was gradually created from dredging. The island seemed to have a life of its own, as a melting pot of different energies, breathing on his own rhythm.

dated 2007 until 2007, comment to the artist (click on an image to enlarge an artwork)

  • Monumental triptych. Suitable for hallway or large room. Variability in different light by using metallic colors in the subsoil. Thick set with spatula and brush. View of dam. Sides are painted with.

  • A colorful air vibrates as it were, between the branches of the poplars. Interplay of light and air between the treetops. (On back of canvas sides painted)

  • A bare tree contrasts with a cool winter evening sky. By the tree frog perspective raises associations with fairy tales and legends. Sides are painted.
