Meditative art, a search for the Source

Around the year 2000 has been a gradual broadening of the representation of mythological archetypes and personal experiences to a more spiritual recollection in my work. From this grew the works which I describe as "meditative art." I took my aims to create work  wich have an inspiring and peaceful exercise influence on their surroundings.

The rationale behind this is that originally all matter is made of the same (spiritual or divine) energy. In making these works I aim matter in such a way that organize its energy is released in its surrounding space. It deliberately follow (as) symmetrical, usually circular, archaic, pure forms.

Certain energy flows that occur in and play for me during the creative process of design and implementation are reflected in the resulting work.

In 1999 (and later) I created this meditative art objects made of terracotta and treated with water glass and pigments.

In 2000 followed by wood frames with carved rock crystal and semiprecious stones like amethyst integrated into the design.

These stones enriche the meditative character of my work. The context in whichI put the stones enforces their psychological vibration. I give the stones a new "home" after being taken aout of the wombof mother earth.

Also resulted in a few drawings and paintings of this theme.

The theme has stopped for some years. Recently I picked up the thread on this topic and the results are on display at the new paintings and sculptures from 2009 and 2010. The minerals, plants and animal nutrition to give here a more varied form language, but the goal remains the same.

This work is very suitable in a meditation room, at a home altar or in a practice room, etc.
